Rafael Del Valle Vega, shareholder and partner in charge of the Tax Department of the CPA firm, UHY Del Valle & Nieves PSC. He graduated from the University of Puerto Rico and has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting. His office practice includes tax advice and planning to clients in the construction industry, manufacturing, services, distribution and sales, among others. He also worked at the international firm of KPMG where he held the position of manager.
He is an active member of the Colegio de Contadores Públicos Autorizados (College of Certified Public Accountants). He was President of the CPA Association in 2008-2009. He held the positions of President Elect, Treasurer, First and Second Vice President and Director of the Government Board of the College. He has also participated in the IVU, Incentives Act of 2008, Tax Affairs, Municipal Affairs, Construction, Tax Reform, 2006 Convention Chairman and CPA College Sponsorships committees. He is currently Chairman of the Construction Committee and member of the Tax Affairs Committee of the CPA Association of PR.
He is an active instructor of the CPA Association of PR, and has offered seminars to banks, the Asociación de Contratistas Generales de PR (Association of General Contractors of PR (AGC), the Asociación de Constructores de PR (Association of Builders of PR (ACPR), Colegio de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico (Association of Engineers and Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR) and other professional organizations. He is currently a tax advisor to AGC and chaired the Voting Committee of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs, known as the AICPA and holds a Chartered Global Management Account designation for his experience.
He has been a member of several Ad-Hoc Committees of the Treasury Commission of the Puerto Rico House of Representatives to work with Tax Reform projects in Puerto Rico. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico Builders Association, past President of the Board of Directors of the non-profit organization Asesores Financieros Comunitarios, Inc. for the years 2012-2014. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Trustees of EDP University of Puerto Rico.
